About Kathy
Kathy Wile lives in Mississippi with her husband, three dogs, and one cat. She began writing at age 35. Though she has always loved the written word, Kathy merely minored in English. She received her degree in art with an emphasis in graphic design from The University of Mississippi in 2001, and she put it to use first as a graphic designer for The Oxford Eagle newspaper. Her hobbies include painting landscapes, writing songs, and exploring nature, particularly bodies of water. Sardis Lake, The Tennessee River, Pickwick Lake, and the Gulf of Mexico are some of her favorite spots, as is reflected in her writing.
Her favorite bookstore is Pontotoc, Mississippi’s own Bookends, which graciously hosted her first several book signings. In 2023 and 2024, she attended Pontotoc Nights, a festival occurring once a month from May through October on Main Street in downtown Pontotoc. She is available for book signing events.

Personal Life
Kathy loves being out on the water. There, she finds inspiration for novel settings, songs, and paintings, like the acrylic on the left of Sardis Lake at sunset. She and her husband go out on their boat whenever weather and time allow.
From September of 2016 until December of 2024, she worked at Etta B Pottery as a painter. Before that, she designed ads at The Oxford Eagle newspaper. Now, she puts her skills to use by designing her own book covers. “I never dreamed when I was learning design software in college and in my early days at the newspaper that I would one day use this knowledge to create books for myself. That’s because even though I could write a good few paragraphs, I did not have what it took to craft an entire novel. I’m grateful that now I can do just that. I thank God for bestowing this gift upon me later in life, once I had gained some experience to serve as inspiration.”
Kathy’s favorite writers include Dean Koontz, Karen White, Christy Barritt, and Janet W. Ferguson. “Dean Koontz has a way with words that leaves me in awe several times per paragraph. Karen White’s mastery of poetically painting a scene and an emotion inspire me. Christy Barritt and Janet Ferguson write clean Christian fiction with intriguing plots. Mrs. Barritt’s novels are fast-paced and action-packed, whereas Mrs. Ferguson focuses on interactions between characters and their emotional development in a beautiful coastal setting.”
